Notes From A Middle-Aged Dad #28: Pixar

Written by Alex on June 27, 2016 - 1 Comments

Dear Ivan:

As you know, tonight we watched The Incredibles for the 5th day in a row.  As you also are aware, we’ve now seen every Pixar movie, several times over.  And, that’s fine.  I’m so glad you’ve found entertainment that you enjoy that we (Mommy and me) can enjoy right along with you.

But, here’s the thing, I’m telling you right now, come football season, I’m watching what I want to watch.  The t.v. is mine.  Do you hear me?  I’m saying it now, in long, drawn-out, slowly-spoken, clearly-enunciated words and phrases, so that you fully understand what I’m telling you.  When the regular season starts, and the Giants take the field, we are watching football.

Unless the Giants suck, in which case we can watch Pixar movies as long as you want.

Love always,

Daddy

You already know what your child thinks: “Who is this strange man, and what is this moon-speak he is babbling at me?”
