The Mulatto Diaries and the multiracial experience with vlogger and blogger, Tiffany Jones, Ep. 3

Written by Alex Barnett on March 8, 2015 - 0 Comments

Ep. 3: Tiffany Jones is the creator of Mulatto Diaries (Youtube vlog/blog hosted by WordPress), which has been used as a resource in college lectures on race, and has been noted as a relevant example of new media in the Society of Professional Journalists’ Quill.  Born in Detroit, MI, Jones holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from The University of Michigan and is based in New York City.

Mulatto Diaries: The Movie, a short documentary chronicling Tiffany’s first year of publicly discussing the black/white biracial experience in America was part of the Mixed Roots Film and Literary Festival in Los Angeles and The Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival on Martha’s Vineyard. The footage originally appeared on youtube as part of the “mulatto diaries” vlog series, giving voice to the decidedly “untragic” mulatto. You can find the series from which these twenty minutes were compiled at www.youtube.com/user/tiffdjones.
