Ep. 128: Zara Gonzalez Hoang grew up in the great white North in a little bungalow in South Minneapolis and spent her childhood doodling and dreaming and listening to the colorful stories her dad told about growing up in Puerto Rico and New York. In 2011, she started a company that made apps for kids and managed to merge her love of art, kids and computers for awhile

After being settled in the Midwest for a zillion years, she went on a five year nomadic streak living in New York, San Francisco, Norfolk and finally settling in the DC Metro Area in a quirky mid-century modern house with a magical forest in the back, where she lives with her husband who is Vietnamese, and her child who is Puerto Rican, Jewish, and Vietnamese.

Zara works as an artist and illustrator (particularly of children’s books).  You can see her work here: http://zaralikestodraw.com/
