Notes From a Middle-Aged Dad #6

Dear Ivan:

We found out recently that you were accepted into this wonderful private school.  That’s the great news.  The bad news is that Mommy and I cannot afford to send you.  But, there’s a silver lining — we can’t afford to send you to college either, so, honestly, where you go to school from now till 12th grade and how you do doesn’t really matter because we couldn’t pay for what comes next anyway.

So, what’s the takeaway– do what you love.  You don’t need school for that.  You need passion.  If you have passion for what your doing, you will figure out a way to obtain the tools and learn the skills you need to succeed.

Plus, if you do what you really, really love, you’ll make a lot of money and then you can support Mommy and me.

Love, Daddy
